Atlantic Canada’s most spectacular display of Pride returns!  Led by the 2022 Pride Ambassador, Tuma Young, the parade is a moment for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to march, dance, wave, cheer, reconnect, and celebrate Pride along a new route through downtown Halifax! Accessible viewing spaces available at South Park and Sackville. At 12:45 pm, all Pride festivities will pause for a Moment of Silence.

Accessibility Features

Accessible Parking: Parking for those using the Parade Accessibility Features will be available along the west side of Sackville St, across from the Wanderers Grounds. Space is limited and on a first come, first serve basis.

Accessible Viewing Area: This space is for those with mobility needs or difficulty standing for long periods and their companions. With seating and shade tents, the Accessible Viewing Area will be located on the west side of South Park St, across from the YMCA building. The space is available on a first come, first serve basis, with a volunteer on site to keep the area in front of the tent clear of obstructions.

Described Viewing Area: An announcer will offer an amplified audio description of the parade on the west side of South Park St, across from the YMCA building for the blind, visually impaired, and their companions. The area will include a tent for shade and seating. Space is limited and on a first come, first serve basis.

Elders Area: This space will be reserved for elder members of the community, providing them with seating and shade. The space in front of the tent will be kept clear of any individuals who might obstruct the view. A volunteer will also be on site to assist as needed and provide water and snacks to elders.

Low Sensory Viewing Area: This area is for those who wish to avoid unexpected noises, crowds, and touching while they watch the parade. This quiet space on the second floor of the YMCA on Sackville Street will have volunteers on site to help keep noise and distractions to a minimum. Sensory tools and snacks will be available. Government issued ID will be required to sign into the space. Accessible entrance is located on South Park Street.
